This Privacy Policy explains how FinanceOS ("FinanceOS", "we", "us", or "our")
collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the FinanceOS mobile application
and related services (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Summary. FinanceOS is a personal and group finance app. We collect the information
needed to provide expense splitting, ledgers (khata), budgeting, savings, and AI-powered insights.
We do not sell your personal data. Financial records you enter are used to operate
the features you choose to use.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
Account information — name, email address, profile photo, and authentication
identifiers when you register or sign in with your email and password.
Financial information you enter — expenses, incomes, transactions, group splits,
ledger/khata entries, debts and balances, budgets, savings goals, categories, notes, and receipts.
Content you upload — photos of receipts or bills, and images you choose to attach.
Communications — messages you send to support and feedback you submit.
1.2 Information collected automatically
Device & app information — device model, operating system version, app version,
language, and a device identifier, used for security, diagnostics, and compatibility.
Usage & diagnostics — feature usage, crash reports, and performance data
(in production builds) to improve reliability.
Advertising identifier — used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads
(see Section 5).
1.3 Device permissions we may request
We request the following permissions only for the features that use them, and only with your consent:

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings. We do not read
your SMS messages or call logs.
2. How We Use Your Information
To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
To provide core features: expense splitting, ledgers, budgeting, savings, and reports.
To generate AI-powered insights and categorisation for the data you enter.
To process subscriptions and payments through our payment providers.
To send you notifications, reminders, and service messages you have enabled.
To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug and improve the App.
To comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal Bases
Where applicable law requires, we process personal data on the basis of: performance of our contract
with you (to provide the App), your consent (e.g. for optional permissions and notifications), our
legitimate interests (security and improvement), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as described below:
With other users you choose — when you add someone to a group or shared ledger,
relevant entries, balances, and your display name are visible to those members.
Service providers — vendors who process data on our behalf under contract,
such as cloud hosting and infrastructure.
Payment processing — in-app purchases on Android are handled by Google Play
Billing (see Section 5).
Legal & safety — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect
rights, property, or safety.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject
to this Policy.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Google AdMob — advertising and measurement; may use your advertising identifier.

Subscription payments are processed by Google Play Billing; FinanceOS does not store your card or
bank credentials.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period,
except where we must retain it to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations.
7. Data Security
We protect data in transit using encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and store credentials using your device's
secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your
information using reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Access, correct, or delete your data from within the App or by contacting us.
Delete your account, which removes your associated personal data as described in Section 6.
Withdraw permissions (camera, microphone, photos, notifications) in your device settings.
Opt out of personalised ads via your device's "Ads" / advertising-ID settings.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or
India's data protection laws (e.g. portability, objection, lodging a complaint with a regulator).
9. Children's Privacy
FinanceOS is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data,
please contact us so we can remove it.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. Where we transfer
data internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with this Policy.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for
material changes, provide additional notice within the App. Continued use after changes take effect
constitutes acceptance.
